Dr. McCasland is a native of Owasso, and spent her childhood surrounded by a myriad of farm animals and whatever reptile her grandpa had recently caught outside for her. After graduation from Owasso High School in 2007 she attended Oklahoma State University. At OSU she was involved in exotic animal and wildlife healthcare, bovine respiratory disease research, and international student associations. She also completed the Spanish Language Program for Foreigners at UPAEP in Puebla, Mexico.
Since graduation in 2014, Dr. McCasland has worked at small animal veterinary practices in Tahlequah, Tulsa, and Fort Smith, Arkansas. She joined SAHO in the summer of 2023. Her professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, exotic animal medicine, pain management, and providing veterinary care to people whose first language is not English. Dr. McCasland also enjoys horseback riding, Latin dance, and camping. She lives on a hobby farm in Oologah with her husband and children.
